Facing the challenges of waste disposal and resource recycling in the steel industry, Taiwan Steel Union is using innovative resource recovery technologies to refine the dust generated by electric arc furnaces into economically valuable zinc oxide, which can be exported to overseas markets, and is gradually expanding its processing capacity. The report indicates that the company had already processed over 17,000 tons of previously stockpiled dust by the end of the year, and plans to begin processing the dust stockpiled on the Dadu Riverbed the following year , demonstrating concrete action towards its vision of a “zero-waste” circular economy.
