Electric-arc-furnace (EAF) slag - Reducing slag

  1. According to Appendix No. 8, regulations for electric-arc-furnace (EAF) slag under the “Management Guideline for the Reuse of Industrial Waste”, processed reducing slag may be reused in cement raw materials, asphalt concrete aggregates, asphalt concrete, Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) aggregates, CLSMs, subbase and base course grade aggregates for pavement constructions (roads, sidewalks, container yards or parking lots), Jersey barrier, non-structural pre-mixed concrete aggregates, non-structural pre-mixed concrete, cement product aggregates, or material for concrete products (concrete bricks, hollow bricks, cement roof tiles, cement slabs, curbs, concrete pipes, manholes, gutter covers).
  2. Depending on the application, the product quality of the EAF slag aggregate products shall meet the requirements of the Chinese National Standards of “CNS 15305 Materials for soil-aggregate subbase, base, and surface courses” and “CNS 1240 Concrete aggregates”.
  3. Product quality (Concrete aggregate, CLSM aggregate):
